KORTH announces 45ACP Auto Loader line

I was surprised to see Korth at the range. They have a new semi-auto that is very 1911 like on the outside but very German engineered on the inside.

The new pistols are the PRS4 and the PRS6

Up until recently, Korth has only had it’s three revolver models. However, this is not just a company jumping in to the market with a clone of JMB’s famous pistol. It keeps the lines and angles we have been used to for over 100 years but improves on accuracy

This is a non-tilting barrel 45ACP handgun. It utilizes a roller delayed locking system. This allows for a fixed barrel

It is no surprise that everything was smooth as glass. Trigger was fantastic and accuracy was beyond what I can do from a standing position.

I know the cut-a-way does not do much in a photo, but it was interesting to watch the parts function

Korth is known to be exhorbantly expensive, but this piece has an MSRP under $4,000. Many custom 1911s are in that territory already.

Korth prepared a short video on the PRS4

7 shot 9MM wheel gun introduced from Smith & Wesson

For the first in years, S&W has introduce a 9MM revolver. This is a pro series firearm so it has several Performance Center inspired upgrades. This includes the PC spring set, and the PC profile barrel. This is the model 986

This is a 7 shot revolver that uses full moon clips. The barrel is 5″ and there the revolver has a Titanium cylinder. The lighter rotating weight of the cylinder combined with the PC spring set makes the action light, smooth and fast

Like most modern S&Ws the firearm was quite accurate. Reloads were fast. If this takes off, look for offerings with other barrel lengths

2014 is the year that the Model 66 returns to Smith & Wesson

This year Smith and Wesson has brought back the Model 66.

Many of us have missed the K-frame 357 Magnums for far too long now

As lots of you already know, the old concern over forcing cone cracks was eliminated with the metallurgical and design changes that were introduced in the -6 engineering revision to the model 66. FYI, this is a -8

I enjoyed shooting this nicely balanced 357 Magnum. Hopefully we will see some additional barrel lengths added in the near future

Smith & Wesson introduces a new 686 Performance Center snubby

It was years ago that the Performance Center first introduced the 2 5/8″ snub nose 627 UDR sometimes also called the PDR.

While cool, it took Clint Eastwood in the movie Bloodwork to propel this little revolver to cult status. Used revolvers were selling for really crazy money. So much in fact that S&W brought the revolver back as a catalogued item that is still available today.

Now those that love the smaller frame 686 have a reason to celebrate. Here is a 7 shot model 686 version of the UDR

Great little snubby and it is cut for use with or without moonclips

NEW from Springfield XDS 4.0

Springfield had the new XDS 4.0 on hand.

This is one nice pocket pistol. Chambered for 9MM, it was accurate and controllable.
