New 10MM Offering from Federal

One of the things that really has me pumped is a new 10MM ammunition offering from Federal.

This is not a watered down load like many that we see out there, this is a potent new offering. A 180 bonded projectile moving at 1275

Factory Performance Specifications

I shot the new ammunition through a Glock 20 using Federal Hydrashock and the new ammunition staggered every other round.

There was a significant difference in felt recoil, audible report as well as how far the brass was thrown.

This is a good sign for all of us 10MM fans

2014 SHOT Show

As many of you know, the Shooting Hunting and Outdoor Trade Show began in Las Vegas this week. This is also know as the SHOT Show

The Show is open from Tuesday through Friday. However, the Monday before the show the Media gathers at the range in Boulder City to handle and shoot many of the new offerings.

The next several entries will contain many postings from the range and she show floor over the several days of the show. If there are questions, I will answer what I can. I will even try and get some things researched for you guys if possible.

Most of these posts will be outside the confines of just 45 TALK

2014 SHOT Show

We are only a few weeks away from the 2014 Shooting Hunting and Outdoor Trade Show. As is common in recent years it will be taking place at the Sands Expo center in Las Vegas.

Already there have been dozens of leaks from the Manufacturers.

S&W has two 9MM revolvers from the Performance Center, the Model 66 is returning, a 5 shot L-frame 44 Magnum will debut plus much more.

Taurus has a 9 ounce 38 Special with a transparent side-plate called “The VIEW”

SIG will have a new modular pistol. Buy one trigger group and you can make a large or compact pistol in a variety of calibers. Change it when you want.

Lots of new Rifles, shotguns and accessories are on the way as well.

The day before SHOT opens, I will be at the range shooting the new offering. Ecpect there to be pictures here that night.

I will be posting photos from the show each day. Withe over one million square feet of exhibit space, I hope I cover your favorite, but I will not be able to cover everything.

Thanksgiving

As Thanksgiving approaches most of us think about the meal or football or the parades. Fewer and fewer people actually take the time to sit back and reflect on what they have to be Thankful for.

I ask that each of you spend just 5 or 10 minutes and make a short list of your blessings. Look toward the good Truths in your life, you know those things that give you Joy, Hope and Confidence. Look away from those few things that bring you sadness or depression or inspire fear. Share the good Truths with the friends and loved ones around your table and ask them to share theirs with you.

John F. Kennedy once said “As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.”

Make this Thanksgiving a day of joyous reflection and then live by it.

New grip for your Black Rifle debuted at the SHOT Show

Hogue has done it again

How about a grip for the AR platform that has a beavertail.

The soft rubber of Hogue’s new grip feels very good when held, at least by someone with big paws like mine.

The grip is availble with or without finger grooves.
