NEW S&W VICTORY 22 autoloader

Smith and Wesson has introduced the “Victory” a 22LR Autoloader, I know it looks like the old 22S

One of the Smith and Wesson guys says it rivals the Model 41. While I have plinked with one, I need time on targets to better evaluate that statement

The Victory’s barrels can be easily changed with just an allen wrench. Initially, Smith and Wesson will have two different barrel profiles. The magazine is a new design specific for this pistol

The barrels shown are produced by Volquartsen

Triple K is already making holsters for the pistol

Kimber K6 revolver

I am going to start with Kimber’s new revolver, the K6s

This is a small pocket revolver chambered for 357 Magnum

It weighs in at 23+ ounces just like a model 640, but the Kimber carries one additional round.

The cylinder has an interesting hexagon shape to it.

The rear sight is dovetailed and the front is pinned so they can be easily changed. The cylinder release is very Rugeresque

One very interesting feature is that the cylinder is recessed for the case heads 🙂 While not important to operation, us older Smith and Wesson guys like that

OK, you are asking “How does it shoot”

Pretty much like any 640. Physics is Physics,23 ounces and 357 Magnum is not going to be “FUN” no matter what you do.

This was not built to be Fun, it was built to save your butt

These are not yet in production. The first 1,000 will be polished bright stainless while the production version will look much like the one in these photos.

Price you say? MSRP will be around $850 just like many other firearms in it’s class

December the 7th

74 years ago today the Empire of Japan initiated a sneak attack against the United States of America on our base at Pearl Harbor, while at the same time negotiating peace.

While this weekend our minds are on the Islamic Extremist Terror, we must never forget the day that lives in infamy. The day that brought the United States of America into World War II

I doubt that most schools even teach this any longer so make sure that you sit with your children, your nieces, your nephews and explain to them what happened in a time that now seems so long ago

May GOD Bless those that protect these United States of America

The Heavens

Man has looked up at the stars for thousands of years. First thinking they were the dwelling places of the various Deities. Later believing that all those distant points of light revolved around with us in the Center of the Universe. Eventually learning that those were Galaxies, Stars and Planets and our true relationship within that realm

July 20th, 46 years ago, our Universe became a bigger place. For the first time, Man set foot on a Celestial body other than our own.

That 5,000 year old dream of walking among the GODs had come true.

As a child, I can still remember the intense AWE that this event hit me with. That same year Stanley Kubrick’s 2001 came out.

I had no doubts that a quick trip to the Space Station or the Moon would be something I would do in my lifetime.

What happened to us as a people? Where is our drive to Explore? Today’s youth is more worried about the new iPhone and who is Tweeting what and they have little to no knowledge of one of Man’s most amazing Journeys . . . . From the Earth to the Moon

Do you realize we went from our first glider flight in Kitty Hawk to landing on the Moon in just 66 years. What have we done in the 46 years since then.
